CONEXPO-CON/AGG and IFPE 2011

Devin and Eva at CONEXPO - CON / AGG & IFPE 2011
C.E.O. Devin Burke and Account Executive Eva Xia attend this year's CONEXPO-CON/AGG and IFPE along with David Stover and Lupe Montano.

This trade show was the international gathering of the construction industry. Interesting enough, the CONEXPO - CON/AGG and IFPE is only held every 3 years. It was held outdoors in Las Vegas with over 2000+ exhibitors.
Along with the usual trade floor, or unusual being that this was an outdoor show, was a comprehensive training week with over 126 traning sessions. There was even equipment manager exams and crane operating certificate programs.

This year the show also hosted a Green Roads Summit. Which covered:
  • Emerging trends
  • Rating and evaluation systems
  • Performance metrics
  • Recycling and reuse
  • Stormwater management
  • Fleet operations
  • Regulatory issues

The show was big as were our spirits in attendance. Another great show crossed off the list for the 2011 year.

Having attended I would add: Large Equipment, Expansive “Booths”, Big Smiles and a Huge appetite for thinking on a grand scale. Many of those I spoke with are aggressively looking for, or are already engaged in export opportunities.

With much of the world building private and public infrastructure, construction equipment and supplies are on the move – in a big way. Whether Boom Trucks that reach 365 feet into the sky and help erect large power generating wind mills, cranes that build sky scrapers, drilling rigs that weigh 45 tons, water treatment plants, or asphalt production plants, everyone was looking to the future, seeking a way to leverage their investment and expertise to make life easier, safer and more profitable for someone else – and thereby reap a just reward.

Excitement, anticipation, eagerness, and optimism is what typified nearly every conversation I had. This enthusiasm is contagious and available to everyone willing to take on the opportunities offered by exporting American goods, ingenuity and “know-how” to a world eager to advance, people hungry for a better way of life.

Well put Dave.

Although getting one of those Crane accounts will prove to be a "tall" order.
